List Queries / Re: Where are the lists
« Last post by Si Hall (Aothor) on November 24, 2021, 09:25:48 PM »
Mark does mainly historical games and i do ainly points games so we will cover both for sure.  But it is far more effective having them online.
We can adapt them to player experience.  The Mortem et Gloriam ones were optimised over 4 years.
It is impossible to get them right at the outset so we don't believe in printing incorrect ones in lists and rule books.

Player Discussion / Re: What theatre/period are you looking forward to?
« Last post by Mark Bevis (author) on November 21, 2021, 11:21:20 AM »
My current 10mm WW2 armies I'm building are:
1939-41 Turkish
1940 French, with options to July 1940-1941 what-if.
Sept 1943-Feb 1944 German 29th Grenadier Division in Italy.

Colleagues have 1940 BEF, hordes of SCW, and someone plans on starting a 1938-39 British force in North Africa so he can use Vickers Medium MK.II tanks.....

I do have a load of other 10mm WW2 including Finns, Italians, Romanians, Russians, Hungarians, Germans, having swapped all my 15mm WW2 for some 10mm WW2 - he got 500 15mm vehicles, I got 700 10mm vehicles - but they are not sorted into units yet.
Also 1956 Cold War is a theme I'm building, for which DoS will work perfectly well, for this I've started a Norwegian army with British 40th Commando assistance, will gradually work through other nations as I see fit.

Hi

It's no problem at all if there are no points values as all the games we play in WW2 are historical scenarios.  It was just a surprise not to see them

List Queries / Fantastic Day at Salute
« Last post by Si Hall (Aothor) on November 15, 2021, 07:26:52 AM »
Mark and I did a lot of demonstrating of the rules at Salute on Saturday. We probably explained the 4 key principles of the rules toa  few 100 peopel and a lot of interest.

Around 40 people had a go during the day and pretty univesrally are now itching to get  acopy.

We also had the proof copies of the book with us and people were very complimentary about it.

I am with PSC today to finalise timing but am imagining pre-sale in December and deliveries back end Feb from the printer.

Next year I am organising soem gatherings at the 4 main hobby events centres and shops I support:
  • Element Games in Stockport

Entoyment Wargaming & Hobby Centre in Poole

    Boards & Swords in Derby

    Battlefield Hobbies in Daventry

I will post dates when I have them settled.

Best wishes to all.... and roll the tanks!

Hi

Points values will be online so we can optimise them, and built into an army builder with an easy drop down system.
Been a massive succcess with the players in MeG and ReG done that way.
We will also issue them as a PDF list for those few who don't like computers.

DoS Australia / Re: Interest in the game

It is true, Divisions of Steel can be used with any scale. Due to a simple unique mechanism, it would even be possible to play a game where one side has say 6mm and the other 15mm, although it would look very odd  :)
Even if two players with the same scale armies have opposing infantry on differing base sizes, the rules will still work.

For me personally 10mm is the ideal scale, as it allows the use of N gauge model railway scenery, so we can have great looking games.

From what I've read on the website and heard what Simon has said you can use whatever you want

So having a brief look at the sample lists it seems like there are no points values? Is this correct or have I made a big assumption?
